Measuring for Blinds

Blind Size or Recess Size?

When measuring for made to measure blinds, consider the space available and the position of your window before deciding whether to fit the blind to the recess of the window or on the outside. Always take measurements with a metal tape measure and use centimetres (cm) or millimetres (mm).

Blind Size

These blinds are fitted to the outside of the window. They will be larger than the window, as the blind will hang from above the window and will be wider and sometimes longer than the window itself. This type of blind will be made to your exact measurements.

How to Measure Blind Size

Measure the exact width and drop you wish the made to measure blind to be.

Recess Size

These blinds are fitted inside the window recess. Give us the measurements of the recess and we will adjust the blinds to fit. Please do not make any adjustments yourself.

How to Measure Recess Size

Measure the width of the recess in three places, top, middle and bottom, in case the recess size is uneven. Make a note of the shortest measurement. Repeat this process with the drop.
