Blinds The no frills Window Treatment

Many customers and clients find curtains too fussy and want a more minimalist look, other reasons for having blinds is for style, as an addition to curtains, using blinds to create privacy or blackout blinds to block light and lastly for that awkward shaped window or conservatory.

Although this floral fabric is quite busy, the roman blinds create a clean, light airy feel to a room, and the blinds are blackout lined to block the sun and keep the room cool.

Vertical blinds are ideal for the awkward shaped window and apex windows, which more and more eco friendly houses seem to have these floor to ceiling large window to bring light into a room, but privacy is still needed from the neighbours.

Wood Venetian blinds are also ideal for clean lines and providing privacy and a more natural look, you can also have venetians in any colour and also in aluminium.

We have just started up this page on our website to bring to you what is happening within M & J interiors and our Industry and bring this news to you our customers and readers.

These beautiful curtains and blinds were made for a lady who wanted to give her lounge afresh clean simple look, after many years of living with swags and tails and austrian blinds, so we picked a fabric with a light background and warm reds and terracotta's.

The fabric for the curtains and valance is a linen mix iliv fabric with embroidered flowers, giving a rich and elegant look to the curtains and pinch plated valance, the contrast fabric used for the roman blinds and details is from Pavilion .

As we wanted to keep things simple, we decided to have the blinds in a plain fabric, but wanted to tie it into the curtains etc, so what we decided on was to use the curtain fabric as a boarder on the bottom of the blinds, and in contrast the plain fabric used to cover buttons on the valance and the tiebacks.

We also tied this look in with the cushions by piping in the plain and making the front of the cushion cover in the main fabric and the back of the cushion cover in the plain fabric.  Cushions are a great way to bring the curtains into the rest of the room an brighten and liven a boring sofa.
